Pratibha “Patti” Tripathi was called a trailblazer because of her awe-inspiring tenacity to achieve impressive professional success. She became the first network news anchor of Indian origin in her late 20’s when she was not well versed in English at age 12. The head of philanthropy of a large corporation referred to her as a visionary when she launched her public charity appropriately named Saris to Suits ® within the confines of a patriarchal South Asian community and a mainstream America and judicial system unaware of cultural nuances. It happened before hashtags such as #MeToo #TimesUp and the UN’s #HeForShe went viral.
But her wildly appalling personal journey fit for a movie is not widely known. After navigating the fallout from a traditional marriage, she has made an impact worldwide by using her voice to advocate for women and girls whose voices have systematically been silenced.
Saris to Suits ® stands for sustainability. Plus, empowerment of women everywhere and our planet.
Despite the pandemic, 2022 saw 40% gains across the board in fabric upcycled, work renumerated, and the number of underprivileged people earn dignified livelihood.
